Keep Your Thanksgiving Guests Entertained
Thanksgiving is a magical holiday that gives us an opportunity to share a delicious meal and give thanks with those closest to us. But after the turkey has been carved, the pumpkin pie devoured and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is over, how do you entertain a houseful of guests for the rest of the week? We have five easy ways to get everyone out of the house and enjoying all that McCall has to offer this Thanksgiving week.
If you are feeling extra ambitions, start your Thanksgiving holiday with the annual Turkey Trot hosted by the Aspen Club on Thanksgiving Day. Pop that turkey in the oven then get out in the fresh air! Prizes will be awarded to the top male, female and kids plus there will be a raffle where anyone who participates can win.
After the feast is packed away, entertain guests and family with a trip to the Festival of Trees. This annual holiday event is held the Saturday following Thanksgiving. This year’s Festival is hosted by the Payette Lake Progressive Club at the Shore Lodge and will be open from 10am to 7pm. View and bid on stunning holiday trees and wreaths mingled between booths showcasing our local artists. Sip a glass of wine or hot chocolate at this family-friendly fundraiser – proceeds from the tree auction go to benefit local non-profits.
Ready to check some of those Christmas gifts off the list? Small Business Saturday is a great way to shop local AND find one-of-a-kind presents to spread the holiday cheer. Whether you’re looking for home goods, outdoor wear, recreational equipment, artwork, jewelry, stylish clothing and accessories, or a sweet treat, you’ll be delighted with the innovative products our local shops and boutiques have to offer.
Want to get crafty? Stop by McCall Craftworks and create a new ornament to adorn the tree. For $5, everyone can pull up a seat and make a unique, handmade work of art – glitter, glue, and art supplies are provided!
