Discovery Trips at Trapper Cabin
As the classic saying goes “You have to see it to believe it.” And we’d welcome the opportunity to show you River Ranch and the surrounding area.
Discover River Ranch and McCall. Contact Chris Reino or Sasha Childs at River Ranch at 208-630-4666 today to schedule a Discovery Trip to River Ranch.
Inspired by the historic era of the 1820’s, Francois Payette, and the mountain men, the Trapper Cabin at River Ranch is outfitted to match generations gone by. Inside and out its rustic elegance takes you back in time without sacrificing the creature comforts of today.
Natural, weathered materials are artistically used and positioned throughout the property; a showcase touch is the sturdy barn wood beam mantle that has endured since the 1840’s and adds to the authentic ambiance of the overall décor.
Downstairs and upstairs sliding doors are old barn wood on iron rails. The stair banister is woven catgut, the steps are rough-hewn blocks, and the railing is artfully finished, distressed iron.
The living area has plenty of comfy seating and picture windows with a River Ranch lake view. Modern kitchen appliances are cleverly modified and reminiscent of a cast iron cook stove, cold box, hand crafter pull drawers, cupboards, and a pantry. Added to the accessories are traditional grub making pots and pans, and characteristically-selected dishes, glassware, and utensils.
Although you feel as though time has stood still, there is a modern-day stack washer and dryer unit and all the comforts of central heat and air conditioning throughout this four-bedroom and three-bath home.
The main level has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. One has an attached bath with shower and outdoor access. There is also a hall access bath with a deep soaking tub. Upstairs is the master bedroom that has an attached bath house which includes a large hammered copper soaking tub and two sinks; both beautiful and functional in that they maintain their warmth and traditional style. The little ones love the built in, extra-long bunk beds.
The natural beauty throughout this 2300 square foot cabin continues just steps outside on the front porch where guests can enjoy so much of the charm that makes River Ranch such an idyllic spot to call home.
Throughout the colorful changes of the Idaho seasons, the Ranch provides a plentiful selection of things to do and see. There are freshwater ponds with a variety of native fish that thrive throughout the year and serve as a playground for those who seek a serene setting with a fishing pole in hand – or just a lazy day soaking up the sun afloat on an inner tube, kayak, or canoe. One of the Ranch’s finest assets is without question the Payette River which runs 2.5 miles through this private home development and offers endless fishing and floating opportunities for the novice to the most advanced.
The Ranch also hosts meticulously-groomed Nordic trails in the winter and as the seasons change, offer miles of walking and biking paths that connect to the community’s well-developed mountain bike trails.
From the expansive green meadows to its lush forested settings, there’s always a scenic spot to stop and take in all that Mother Nature offers for our guests at the River Ranch Trapper Cabin.
