Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe Right Out Your Backdoor
Be it here on-site, or throughout the close-by Payette National Forest, the options to unplug and unwind in the great outdoors are many and forever memorable.
Among Mother Nature’s finest creations are miles of cross-country and snowshoes trails that beg for a picture-perfect day away from it all. Right here at River Ranch, our residents only need to take a few steps from their front door to enjoy their exclusive access to our five miles of meticulously groom trails. All it takes is just one day of skate skiing, classic cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing in your own backyard to recognize just how quiet and visually stunning our private community on the edge of the Payette River can be.

If you love to snowshoe, look no further. If you have never tried it, here’s a little inspiration. Picture if you will the opportunity to step into a pair of snowshoes and step off your porch to explore our 458—acre private ranch lands and development that stretch two and a half miles along the crystal-clear waters of the Payette River.
Along the way, you may see some of our local deer and elk getting a daily sip from our man-made lakes or little critters bounding about in the freshly laden snow. Wander wherever you want to in and about our pristine property without a bother in the world. Don’t forget a picnic to enjoy on the edge of the River and then just let the day slip away.
If you feel a little more adventurous and have a passion for breaking some trail, there are endless places to play in the powder or plow through the forests for days on end. Some of our favorite snowshoe escapes include the close-by Ponderosa State Park, the Activity Barn, and Bear Basin.

After a full day of fun in your backyard at River Ranch, you need not go too far to find a perfect ending. Set on one of our many private lakes is the community Ranch House – complete with a large hot tub and other amenities to make you feel warm and welcome right here at home.
