Judd and Diane DeBoer

Judd and Diane DeBoer

Following graduation from Willamette University, Judd completed
Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I. and served 3 years as a U.S.
Navy officer. Upon completion of his military service he joined the
San Francisco office of a large securities firm where he specialized
in portfolio management and investment research. Ten years later he
founded Envirotherm, Inc., a firm serving the commercial, industrial
and residential markets in the Bay Area involving insulation, sound
proofing, and windows.

In 1980, Judd and his wife, Diane, purchased Brown’s Industries, Inc.
in McCall, Idaho including an interest in Brundage Mountain Ski Area.
Shortly later they purchased Evan’s Building Center in Eagle, Idaho and
Payette Lakes Lumber Co. in McCall. In 1981 the family relocated from
San Rafael to Boise and McCall.

For most of his adult life, Judd has been involved in real estate
investment and development involving timberlands, ranches and
commercial developments. Judd has headed the on-going extensive development at Brundage Development Resort for the past 30 plus years, and in 2006 the DeBoer family bought out their partner, the J.R. Simplot Co., becoming sole owners.

In 2000, Judd and Diane and their family conceived and developed
Salmon Rapids Lodge overlooking the Salmon River in Riggins, Idaho.
The family continues to operate this 55 room award winning hotel.

Judd and Diane’s vision for the beautiful River Ranch matched that of
their partner’s, the Hart Family. River Ranch is an upscale
residential community with 2-1/2 miles of river front, lakes, nature
trails, and preserves, Members’ Ranch House and a fabulous guest
cabin. They take pride in River Ranch knowing that families will
enjoy this spectacular property for generations to come. This is
especially meaningful for Diane since their children now are 4th
 generation McCall.

Judd has served as a director of numerous industry boards and was
appointed by three Idaho Governors to serve on the Idaho Travel
Council. Judd and Diane were honored to receive the “Outstanding
Contribution to the Sport of Skiing” award by the Intermountain Ski
Areas Association and Judd was named the 2018 recipient of the
”Governor’s Lifetime Achievement in Recreation and Tourism” award.
